Industrial Design students from the Faculty of Applied Arts visited the Amity Doors factory as part of a programme that bridges academic study with the realities of door manufacturing. The visit was hosted as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to bringing the next generation of designers closer to the production floor.
A guided tour through every stage
The day opened with an introductory session covering the factory’s history, the company’s focus on armoured-door manufacturing, and how Amity supplies high-quality security doors to both local and international markets. The students were then walked through the full production cycle by Amity’s engineers and designers — from conceptual design and prototyping, through cutting, forming, and finishing, all the way to assembly and quality control.
Particular attention was given to the modern technologies used in cutting and forming, and to the safety and quality standards that apply at every step. Throughout the tour the students asked questions, exchanged ideas with the team, and saw first-hand how design decisions translate into a finished door.

جولة إرشادية على كل المراحل
بدأ اليوم بجلسة تعريفية عن تاريخ المصنع، وتركيز الشركة على صناعة الأبواب المصفّحة، وكيف توفّر Amity أبواب أمان عالية الجودة للأسواق المحلية والدولية. ثم اصطحب مهندسو ومصممو Amity الطلاب في جولة على كامل دورة الإنتاج — من التصميم المبدئي والنماذج الأولية، مرورًا بالقص والتشكيل والتشطيب، وصولًا إلى التجميع ومراقبة الجودة.
حظيت التقنيات الحديثة في القص والتشكيل ومعايير السلامة والجودة في كل خطوة باهتمام خاص. وعلى مدار الجولة، طرح الطلاب أسئلتهم وتبادلوا الأفكار مع الفريق، وشاهدوا بأنفسهم كيف تتحول قرارات التصميم إلى باب مكتمل.
